Throughout
elementary school, our children are developing their academic
self-concept, decision making skills, communication and life skills, and
character values. They are also acquiring and developing their attitudes
and behaviors toward adults, peers, family, and themselves. The tools
they acquire in the areas of academic, career and personal/social
development during these elementary years often serve as the foundation
for future success.
I look forward to providing support, guidance and opportunities during
this time of rapid growth and change by addressing our students’
development academically, personally and socially, as well as career
awareness and development. The guidance program provides developmentally
appropriate education, prevention and intervention services which are
integrated into all aspects of the students’ lives. We will have
guidance classes within the classroom setting that follow thematic units
such as respect, responsibility, citizenship, caring, respect,
trustworthiness, anti-bullying and more. We will also have small group
sessions available for more focused learning, and individual counseling
is available by request.
I have a Bachelor of Science degree from Oklahoma State University and a
Masters of Education in Counseling degree from the University of
Oklahoma. My wife, Robyn, is a middle school math teacher, and our three
kids are all proud Antlers. Our daughters, Addison and Kaitlyn, are in
sixth grade and Jake is in second grade. Outside of my time at school I
enjoy spending time with my family, participating with my kids in their
activities, reading, running, OSU athletics, and anything that involves
being in or on a body of water. I am looking forward to a great year!
