5th Grade Language Arts

This is my fourth year as the Language Arts teacher at Prairie Vale. I am proud to be a part of such a wonderful school. We are going to be extremely busy with “Hands on Grammar”, spelling, and writing lessons throughout the year. One of the main challenges for fifth grade students is preparing for the CRT writing test in February.

This is my seventh year to teach. Before teaching at Prairie Vale, I taught in the Lawton Public School System (6th grade for 2 years & 5th grade for 1 year). I received my bachelor’s degree from East Central University in Ada, Ok.

The area of my life that I am most proud of is my wonderful family. My husband Tobin and I celebrated our 21st anniversary this summer. He is the youth minister at Quail Springs Baptist Church. We have three wonderful sons Reid, Blaine, and Kale. Reid graduated from DC this past year and is attending Oklahoma Baptist University in Shawnee. Blaine is a junior at the high school, and Kale is in seventh grade at the middle school.
