I'm
Michelle Anderson, principal of Prairie Vale Elementary. I have been an educator
since January of 1990 and have loved each and every role I have played in each
school. My husband, Marc, and I have three children, Reece, Quinn and Beck who
attend Deer Creek Schools. I love being a “mommy” and my children serve as a
constant reminder to me of the kind of school I want to provide and what kind of
relationship I wish to have with each student. My professional preparation
includes undergraduate academic work in the area of elementary education and
graduate and postgraduate work in the area of school administration. I've taught
first grade, second grade, and third grade in 3 different schools and have
served as an assistant principal and principal in 3 different schools. My goal
is to bring the best parts of all the schools I've been involved with, along
with my academic preparation and life experience to help make Prairie Vale
better each year.
Our teaching staff includes many Master's degrees, teachers who have achieved
National Board Certification and several teachers who are currently working on
graduate degrees. We also host student teachers from several universities each
year. They are a wonderful group of professional educators with a wealth of
knowledge and experience.
The goals of Prairie Vale are to concentrate on the development of curriculum
with “Rigor” and “Relevance” and to continually work on “Relationships”, while
remembering that “Attitude is Everything”. These things make up the central
theme I like to call “The New 3 R’s: Rigor, Relevance and Relationships-Attitude
is Everything”.
I always like to remember this quote that really works for all of us in and
around schools to remember:
"Those Privileged to touch the lives of children should constantly be
aware that their impact on a single child might affect a multitude of others a
thousand years from now !"

I want all children to enjoy their childhood while developing a lifelong passion
for learning. I want to find each child's individual strengths and nurture those
strengths while building up areas of need. I believe that we must educate the
"whole child" which includes not only curriculum, but also social skills and
character development. A well-rounded child is prepared to become a successful
adult citizen who will eventually touch the lives of others. Welcome to PV,
little Antlers! |
